The Kansas City Chiefs are expected to stick with offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy for the 2022 NFL season according to multiple reports.
As first reported by FanSided’s Matt Verderame and confirmed by WDAF-TV’s Harold R. Kuntz, the Chiefs anticipate Eric Bieniemy will return as offensive coordinator in 2022. Bieniemy signed a one-year contract following the 2021 NFL season with hopes of getting an NFL head coaching job in this cycle. Despite interviewing for multiple positions, Bieniemy was passed over yet again for an NFL head coaching job.
A report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Super Bowl Sunday revealed that Eric Bieniemy’s future in Kansas City was all but certain. Schefter reported that Andy Reid and Bieniemy would meet to discuss the future, noting that several options were on the table, including Bieniemy leaving the Chiefs.
