Andrew Whitworth ‘staying active’ ahead of retirement decision, wants to remain involved in football

Ahead of the Super Bowl versus the Cincinnati Bengals, it was assumed that Andrew Whitworth was playing his final game for the Los Angeles Rams — and in the NFL. With the Rams taking care of business in the Super Bowl, it all but guaranteed that Whitworth would walk away as a champion.

While Whitworth admitted that he’s leaning toward retirement, he appeared on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football” on Wednesday to reveal that he’s “Staying active” ahead of his ultimate decision.

“I’m staying active, working out, training myself,” Whitworth said. “But I don’t know yet. I still think it’s one of those – I’m close. It’s in the next week or two I’m going to decide what I’m going to do.

Following the Super Bowl, Whitworth uttered that he would make a decision on his future with the Rams in a “couple of weeks.” The 40-year-old offensive tackle is taking all of the time he needs to mull over his options.

People shouldn’t read too much into Whitworth…
