The New England Patriots made an extremely necessary move by retaining offensive tackle Trent Brown on a two-year deal.
New England already lost Ted Karras and Shaq Mason this offseason — it couldn’t afford to lose another starter. Brown rejoined the Patriots in the 2021 season following a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders and he’s made it clear that he loves playing in Foxborough.
Michael Onwenu will likely take over one of the empty guard roles and the Patriots now have to find one more player to solidify the line. Mac Jones, who’s entering his second year, is loving the re-signing of Brown.
Both Brown and Jones went to Instagram to celebrate the new contract.

The Patriots still need depth at cornerback, receiver and linebacker.
