The Tigers are looking to add offensive weapons in the 2023 recruiting class, and they could be poised to land one of the best this cycle.
On Tuesday, 247Sports director of football recruiting Steve Wiltfong placed a crystal ball to LSU for four-star Saint Louis (Missouri) DeSmet tight end Mac Markway.
Markway, a 6-foot-4-inch, 250-pound prospect, ranks as the No. 100 overall player in the 2023 class per the 247Sports Composite. He’s listed as the No. 7 tight end and No. 3 player from the state of Missouri. He also has interest in Iowa, Miami and Ohio State, but six of the seven crystal ball predictions for Markway have him heading to Baton Rouge.
He was previously committed to former coach Dan Mullen at Florida, initially pledging last July before decommitting on Dec. 19 shortly after new coach Billy Napier was hired.
