Penn State finished off its first week of spring football practices with a notable recruiting weekend, but the Nittany Lions are also now with one less commit in the Class of 2023. Neeo Avery, a four-star edge rusher out of Maryland, announced he has decommitted from Penn State and re-opened his recruitment.
“I just want to start this off by saying thank-you to the whole Penn State staff for taking a chance on me and giving me an opportunity to play ball at the next level,” Avery said in a statement posted on his Twitter account on Sunday morning. “For that, I can’t thank y’all enough and this decision that my family and I have come to, this has been very hard.”
“But with that being said, I will be decommitting and my recruitment is 100% back open,” Avery announced.
Avery committed to Penn State’s Class of 2023 on December 31, 2021. Now, almost three months later, Avery is back to weighing his options for his future. It remains to be seen if Penn State will come back…
