Georgia Bulldogs quarterback JT Daniels has transferred to the West Virginia Mountaineers over Missouri and Oregon State. Daniels went undefeated during his time at Georgia, but ultimately lost the starting job to Stetson Bennett during the 2021 college football season.
Daniels, a former USC Trojans transfer, is a big-time addition for West Virginia. Daniels still has a very talented arm. He puts his offense in the best position to succeed before the snap and can make all of the throws. He is not the most mobile quarterback.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to Daniels’ transfer:
West Virginia quarterbacks coach Graham Harrell
Harrell, who previously coached Daniels at USC, was fired up to land a commitment from the former five-star quarterback.
West Virginia head coach Neal Brown
Neal Brown is 52-34 during his career with the Mountaineers, which began in 2019. Brown will need a big season from Daniels.
Georgia fans wish Daniels the best
There are very few Georgia fans that will say anything bad about JT Daniels. Daniels won all of his starts at Georgia and ended his career with a national championship.
Georgia fans will follow Daniels’ journey at West Virginia
Daniels is expected to start for West Virginia. He and the Mountaineers open their schedule on Sept. 1 against Pittsburgh. Other interesting West Virginia games include Texas, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Baylor, and more.
Daniels will look to be West Virginia’s first drafted QB since 2019
Mountaineers fans are pumped to add Daniels, who will look to be West Virginia’s first drafted quarterback since Will Grier in 2019.
