Hevin Brown-Shuler is a 6-foot-4, 290-pound defensive lineman from Atlanta where he plays for Pace Academy. Back in 2020, he was named to the Maxpreps Freshman All-American team according to 247Sports.
When I think back to when LSU was dominant almost every year, I think about how disruptive their defensive line was. This was a team you never wanted to attempt to run against because they were physical and filled every gap in the line as soon as the ball was snapped.
The game has changed a lot over the years, but a talented defensive line can still win you a lot of ball games. Don’t believe me? Have you seen Aaron Donald play for the Rams? Teams have to create a game plan just to try and stop him.
Aiden Hutchinson and Jordan Davis both finished last year in the top-10 for Heisman voting. Hevin Brown-Shuler could be that guy for the LSU Tigers. He could be Marcus Spears. He could be Glenn Dorsey. He has that talent. Right now, South Carolina is the favorite to land him, but bringing him to the bayou would be a big win for Brian Kelly.
