In the updated release of ESPN’s Football Power Index, the Oklahoma Sooners were second in the Big 12 behind the Texas Longhorns. One of the things the FPI considers when coming to their calculation is strength of schedule.

It’s difficult to predict how strong a schedule is or isn’t in April, but it can be a good indicator of how a season could play out. In 2021, the knock against the Oklahoma Sooners was their strength of schedule, despite their undefeated record.
