9 questions we’re looking for the Oregon Ducks to answer at Saturday’s spring game

In any year, you’re going to enter the spring game with a lot of questions that need to be answered. After a long offseason that likely saw a number of starters leave the program, and several underclassmen step into more prominent roles, that’s just the nature of the game. The annual spring scrimmage is a time for fans to see what they have on the roster and adjust their expectations accordingly.

For the Oregon Ducks, the list of questions that need to be answered on Saturday is endless.

After an entirely new coaching staff took over in the offseason, the Ducks are going into the spring without an established QB1, RB1, or WR1. They, fortunately, return four of five starters on the offensive line, but will also need to find a swath of players on defense to step up due to a number of injuries.

We also are looking to figure out answers to some incredibly basic questions. What type of head coach will Dan Lanning be on the sideline? How exciting will Kenny Dillingham’s offense be to watch? Is a Tosh Lupoi-plus-Lanning defense as dominant as it sounds?

The questions are endless, we just have to hope we get the answers we’re looking for. One can only hope. At any rate, here is what we want to know when all is said and done.

Who takes the QB1 lead?

There may be no question facing the Ducks more important than who is going to be their starting quarterback in the fall. While we almost certainly won’t get an answer as to what the depth chart at the position looks like before August, the spring game will give us a great look at the progress the three scholarship quarterbacks have made over the offseason.
