WR Chris Hilton Jr.’s 2022 player profile

WR Chris Hilton Jr.’s 2022 player profile

Going into the 2022 football season, LSU Wire will be looking at each scholarship player listed on the Tigers roster.

Over the preseason, each profile will cover where the player is from, how recruiting websites rated them coming out of high school, and what role they will play for Brian Kelly this season.

We’ve already covered much of the receiving corps, and here we look at another in sophomore wideout Chris Hilton Jr. A former top-100 recruit in the 2021 class, Hilton only appeared in four games during his true freshman season and will try to find targets in a loaded group this season.

Depth Chart Overview

Hilton played in four games and started two as a true freshman season, but his only play of note came in the Texas Bowl loss to Kansas State in which he scored an 81-yard touchdown. His only prior catch last season didn’t go for a gain.

One of the most talented players in this receiving group based on his recruiting evaluation, Hilton could be set to surprise some people this year. It won’t be easy to make an impact, though, as he’ll be contending with a lot of other talented players.

Kayshon Boutte is set to be one of the best receivers in college football if he can stay healthy, and Jack Bech, Brian Thomas Jr. and Malik Nabers will all compete for targets as well and had solid performances in LSU’s spring game.
