USC roars in recruiting right after spring game

Stewart Mandel of The Athletic compares past and current USC coaches

If you’re not sure if the USC football spring game was truly a success, consider the simple point that in the first 36 hours after the game ended, USC has been achieving tangible results on the recruiting front.

Whether it’s landing transfers in the portal, or securing official visits from some of the elite prospects in the country, or moving up the board for other top recruits and making their final lists of possible teams, USC has checked a lot of boxes in a day and a half, after the final whistle of Saturday’s scrimmage.

It’s easy for coaches to talk about excitement or momentum, and it’s easy for players to say that the vibe around a program is positive, but when outsiders come to Los Angeles or see a game from a distance and think the product is attractive, that’s a clear sign the program has something to offer.
