The Oregon Ducks have apparently made enough of an impression through conversations with 4-star safety DaKaari Nelson to be staying alive through his most recent recruiting cutdowns.
Oregon offered a scholarship to Nelson back in March, and despite the 2023 prospect not taking a visit to Eugene yet, the Ducks are one of his 6 finalists as he narrows down his recruitment.
At 6-foot-3, 203 pounds, the Alabama native is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 18 safety in the 2023 class, and No. 200 player overall. The Ducks stand as the only team west of the Mississippi who is in contention for Nelson’s commitment.
