Hawkeyes offer 2025 LB Kamar Archie

It takes a special type of talent to attract attention from college programs after their freshman season in high school. That’s precisely the type of player Kamar Archie appears to be.

The 6-foot-1, 215 pound linebacker in the 2025 recruiting class picked up an offer from the Iowa Hawkeyes. Archie is out of the Hun School of Princeton in New Jersey. His teammate, 2024 EDGE and defensive end Owen Wafle, also just earned an offer from the Hawkeyes. Hun School’s starting quarterback, Marco Lainez III, is also a commit in Iowa’s 2023 recruiting class.

With it being so early in the evaluation process for 2025 recruits, there really aren’t rankings to look at as it pertains to Archie just yet. A good indication on how college programs are already beginning to view him can be seen through the number of teams that have already offered in addition to Iowa.

According to 247Sports, Archie also holds offers from Boston College, Duke, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, Virginia and West Virginia.

Archie becomes the fifth player in the 2025 class to pick up an offer from Iowa according to 247Sports. The others are Lee’s Summit North High School wide receiver Isaiah Mozee from Missouri, Edwardsville High School EDGE Iose Epenesa from Illinois, Nazareth Academy EDGE Gabe Kaminski  from Illinois and Zephyrhills High School safety DJ Pickett from Florida. Iowa offered Epenesa on June 4, 2021, Mozee on June 27, 2021, Kaminski on Sept. 26, 2021 and Pickett on Dec. 28, 2021.

According to MaxPreps, Archie led the Hun Raiders in tackling last season with 74 total tackles in nine games. He also rushed it 25 times for 335 yards with five rushing touchdowns. Here’s a look at Archie’s freshman season Hudl highlights.
