LSU offers 2023 four-star safety from Saint Louis

2023 DL Xzavier McLeod announces finalists

Marvin Burks Jr. is a 6-foot-22, 190-pound safety from Saint Louis, where he plays for Cardinal Ritter College Prep.

Brian Kelly made a big splash in the transfer portal for the class of 2022 to fill a lot of positions in the secondary. For the class of 2023, it appears as though he is taking the prep approach. The Tigers already have two safety commits for the class of 2023 but are looking to add more.

Film Analysis: The thing that jumps out at me the most about watching his film is his relentless pursuit of the man with the ball. He plays in run support like a linebacker. He ain’t afraid to fill a gap and take a shot because he will dish one of his own. He also has great ball skills and coverage.

He has a few clips of him going 1-on-1 with a receiver and he is able to high point the pass from the quarterback and make an interception a few times. If I were a college coach, Burks is a guy I would want on my team.
