Defensive line target drops top nine

Tigers offer brother of Zykeivous Walker

Auburn is continuing to get looks in the Bryan Harsin era.

New Jersey defensive lineman Sydir Mitchell released his top nine schools on Sunday, and the Auburn Tigers made the cut. Mitchell is courting other SEC schools, however, including the likes of Georgia, Kentucky, Texas A&M, LSU and Tennessee.

Mitchell is among the 28 interior defensive linemen that Auburn has offered for the 2023 class, none of which have committed to the Plains just yet. Mitchell has great size and a good burst off the line, and Auburn would certainly benefit from his services as Bryan Harsin attempts to field a good squad for his vital 2022-23 campaign with the Tigers.

Despite a recent Auburn visit, Mitchell is still making the rounds to other schools before making his decision. He’s set to visit Georgia and then Texas A&M in the coming months, two recent recruiting powerhouses that have a tremendous amount of sway in the SEC.

Here’s the rundown on what Auburn can expect to get in Mitchell should he choose to come to the Plains:
