Raiders 2022 draft grades

No picks for the Raiders in the first and second round of this year’s draft. They spent those by sending them to Green Bay for Davante Adams. So, their draft started in the third round.

No one expects the Raiders to ‘win’ the draft without any high picks. I mean, whatever it means to ‘win’ a draft. All they can do is try to maneuver the draft, get good value, and fill some needs.

The ultimate hope is to get a few starters out of it. Whether that be immediately or down the road. But the grades for that will come, well, down the road.

How they worked the draft we grade now. So, let’s get to it.

This pick just made so much sense for the Raiders. He’s a guard who projects as a center which is just what the Raiders need. This is right in the range where he was expected to go. He was rated as the third-best center in this class and was the fifth center chosen.

RB Zamir White (Rd 4, pick 122) — Grade C

Georgia Bulldogs running back Zamir White (3) celebrates with Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Broderick Jones (59) after scoring the first touchdown of the game on Monday, Jan. 10, 2022, during the College Football Playoff National Championship against Alabama at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Georgia won 33-18.

This pick was a shocker. First of all, the Raiders traded a round five pick to move up four spots to get him. Second of all, they don’t have a need at running back. That room was plenty crowded already. Some have tried to justify the pick by saying the team only has one back who is under contract after next season. Well, so, then, like, maybe draft a running back after this season.
