Aggies find themselves in 2023 4-Star Wide Receiver’s “Top 5”

Where did the A&M staff visit this week?

The 2022 NFL draft is officially over and while scouts and front offices alike are taking a much-needed break, the recruiting cycle continues its daily grind, with young athletes beginning to narrow down their top destinations for their college football futures.

For the Aggies, this Sunday afternoon became a little more exciting on the recruiting end as 4-Star Wide Receiver Johntay Cook II, out of Desoto High School in Desoto, Texas,  revealed his ‘Top 5″ schools, with the Aggies landing smack dab in the middle of the list after visiting in early April, and competing with the likes of Texas, Michigan, Florida, and Jackson State.

Standing at 6’0″ 170lb, Cook II is ranked as one of the top 10 receivers and top 50 players in the country according to 24/7, and is one of the quickest receivers in the 2023 class while participating as a two-sport athlete, competing in track and field as well as football, adding another layer to his dynamic athletic profile.

After adding 5-Star wide receivers Evan Stewart and Chris Marshall in the 2022 recruiting class, Texas A&M has officially marked its territory as one of the top destinations for wideouts in the country, and Johntay Cook II could possibly be the next addition to one of the most talented receiving groups we’ve seen in years.
