It’s becoming increasingly rare these days for a player to stick around at the same school for five years, but Micah Baskerville has done just that and should be a leader as one of the holdover veterans of largely this new-look defense that has to replace starter Damone Clark. However, he’ll face some competition after LSU bulked up its linebacker group this offseason.

Depth Chart Overview
Baskerville saw a lot more playing time as a true freshman in 2018 than one might expect of a player who was barely inside the top-300 of the 247Sports composite recruiting rankings. Still, he saw minimal action his first two seasons and was mostly a reserve player, totaling just 33 tackles in that span.
He became a starter as a junior and immediately boosted his production, totaling 55 tackles that season. However, he struggled in some ways and earned a very sub-par 46.6 overall defensive grade from PFF.
