The 2022 Buffalo Bills are back–well not exactly.
But the team’s newest faces, their rookies, will hit the field for the first time in a Bills logo.
On Friday, Buffalo hosts their rookie minicamp which will roll through the weekend. Rookies will then join vets come May 23 when voluntary OTA workouts resume.
All of those… aren’t much real football. But we’re not going to let that ruin our fun.
Here is Bills Wire’s early 53-man roster projection ahead of rookie minicamp:

Roster (2): Josh Allen, Case Keenum
Cut(s): Matt Barkley
The Bills have been fine hanging onto two quarterbacks under the watch of coach Sean McDermott. Barkley will stick around on the practice squad, but we’ll monitor this situation going forward.
Is Barkley a hot commodity like Allen would be? Of course not, but he did skip around from team-to-team last year because he kept getting signed off practice squads.
Naturally, Allen and Keenum, who Buffalo traded a late-round pick for, make the cut.

Roster (5): Devin Singletary, James Cook, Zack Moss, Taiwan Jones, Duke Johnson
Cut(s): Reggie Gilliam, Raheem Blackshear
The top four that make the roster are close to locks–Jones for special teams. The one to watch will be Johnson. He’s had promising stretches throughout his career, but he’s a pass-catching back like Cook. Johnson will have to earn a roster spot in the preseason. But one thing to remember is how McDermott has loved to keep a defacto veteran backup on game day every year like TJ Yeldon. Johnson’s time to shine on the inactive list?
