Under-the-radar CU Buffs who could turn pro in 2023

The 2022 Colorado Buffaloes football team will look drastically different than the group from 2021.

As such, a number of Buffs have 2023 NFL draft hopes as we discussed previously. On top of that, there are a number of other players rocking the Buffaloes uniform that are worth monitoring.

The new-look Buffs team will have an uphill battle next season, but nonetheless, there are going to be exciting times in Boulder in the future.

Brian Howell of BuffZone broke down some other players who will be worth watching during the upcoming season that might have an outside shot of an NFL future.

ALEX FONTENOT

Jarek Broussard joined Mel Tucker at Michigan State, and now it’s Alex Fontenot’s time to shine again.

Fontenot has an outside shot of being selected in the NFL draft, but he has all the makings for a massive year.

The mass exodus from the Buffs’ wide receiver room means a lot of work coming up for Daniel Arias. The talent is there, and Howell believes that he needs a big year to get noticed.

ROBERT BARNES

The departures of Carson Wells and Nate Landman open up a massive hole on the defense. As such, Robert Barnes has a perfect opportunity to step in and become the focal point of the linebacker group for Colorado.

ISAIAH LEWIS

Lewis will enter his third year as a starter for Colorado and has a lot to handle on defense. Nonetheless, the path to a huge role is there for him, and he could walk away as one of the best defensive players on the team.
