Eagles sign former Georgia football LB Nakobe Dean

On Monday, the Philadelphia Eagles announced that they have signed third round NFL draft pick, linebacker Nakobe Dean.

Dean signed a four-year deal worth $5,186,894 and will count $943K against the cap this coming season, per EaglesWire.

Dean, a former five-star recruit out of Horn Lake, Mississippi, was the leader on Georgia’s ferocious national championship defense.

He was a projected first round pick in April’s NFL draft but slipped to the third round after rumors swirled surrounding his health and overall durability heading into the 2022 NFL season.

Dean will join an Eagles defense that used their first round draft pick on Georgia defensive lineman Jordan Davis. Davis signed his contract recently as well.

It was absolutely incredible the 2021 Butkus Award Winner, All-America first-team member, captain of the 2021 AFCA Good Works Team and SEC Defensive Player of the Year by Pro Football Focus was still on the board that late.

Dean finished the 2021 season with 72 tackles, led the Bulldogs in tackles for loss (10.5) and was second on team in sacks (6). He finished with 31 pressures and six pass breakups, while finishing second on team with two interceptions.
