Jordan Addison narrows his list to two schools: USC and Texas

There is finally some movement in the Jordan Addison situation. This isn’t the final plot twist, but it’s a step in the right direction for Lincoln Riley and USC.

According to reporting from On3 Sports, Addison — the elite wide receiver from the University of Pittsburgh who recently entered the transfer portal — has eliminated Alabama and Nick Saban from consideration. Addison, who recently worked out with Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Bryce Young, has reduced his list of possible transfer destinations to USC and Texas.

Interestingly, the kickoff time for the Alabama-Texas game was revealed earlier this week, giving that particular game a lot of national attention in mid-May. Alabama will be a huge favorite in that game, yet Addison is more drawn to Texas than Bama. Make of that what you will.

The question is this: Is Addison more drawn to Texas than USC? We still don’t know what the receiver thinks.

USC lost a high-profile recruiting battle when Josh Conerly went to Oregon. If the Trojans can get Addison on board, that would reduce the sting of the Conerly loss and increase the margin for error on the 2022 USC offense.

Stay tuned.
