PFF tabs OT Taylor Moton as Panthers’ most underrated player

People within and around the Carolina Panthers organization know how good Taylor Moton is. But how about the rest of the sport?

Well, Sam Monson of Pro Football Focus seems to think those outside of the franchise don’t give the 27-year-old offensive tackle enough credit. While naming each team’s most underrated player, Monson tabs Moton—who he believes could’ve gotten more attention had he not been playing on such an abysmal line.

“One of the very best right tackles in the game plies his trade on one of the worst offensive lines in the game,” Monson writes. “Moton was the lone pillar of quality play on a disastrous Panthers line last season, and it seems likely that he would be more highly regarded if he played on a better line in recent seasons. Over the past three seasons, no tackle has played more snaps than Moton’s 3,162, and his 84.8 PFF grade ranks among the best right tackles in football over that same span.”

Moton, who signed a four-year, $72 million extension last summer, has been a solid investment for Carolina. In addition to the impressive critiques of his work over that three-year span, the former second-round pick hadn’t missed a single offensive snap between 2020 and 2021.

And while Moton is, obviously, worthy of such a distinction—this got us thinking. Do you agree?

Do you think Moton is really the most underrated Panther? If not, then let us know who down below:
