Preseason schedules are often an afterthought due to the meaningless nature of the games. However, for fans who’ve missed football, it’s exciting to see when your favorite team returns to the field, even if it is a preseason game.
On Thursday, the Washington Commanders revealed their Week 1 preseason opponent and its head coach Ron Rivera’s former team, the Carolina Panthers.

The Commanders and Panthers have met the past four seasons, with Washington winning three of those four meetings, including a 27-21 victory last season.
