Going into the 2022 football season, LSU Wire will be looking at each player listed on the Tigers’ roster.
Over the preseason, each profile will cover where the player is from, how recruiting websites rated them coming out of high school, and what role they will play for Brian Kelly this season.
We continue our breakdown of some of the walk-ons on this roster with one of the veterans among that group, senior linebacker Hunter Faust. He’s one of the few remaining players from the Tigers’ national title team in 2019, and he has appeared in six games over the course of his career with no stats recorded.

Depth Chart Overview
Faust is a New Orleans native who attended Jesuit High School, and he opted to remain relatively close to home after walking on with LSU’s football team in 2018.
After redshirting his first season, he appeared in one game during the Tigers’ championship run and has played in five in the two seasons since. He hasn’t recorded a stat as a backup linebacker and contributor on special teams, but he is a two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member and graduated with a degree in construction management in May.
He’ll enter what could likely be his final season with the team looking to crack the stat sheet for the first time, though he doesn’t figure to play a major role in the linebacker rotation.
