We’ve already examined a redshirt freshman who should enter the fall as the favorite to win the placekicking job in Damian Ramos, and now we’ll take a look at a player who could be his specialist counterpart at the punter spot in Peyton Todd, who is also a redshirt freshman.

The No. 1 punter in the nation coming out of West Monroe, the in-state prospect chose the Tigers, and there was speculation he could win the open punting job as a true freshman.
However, the bulk of those reps instead went to longtime kickoff specialist Avery Atkins, who has since graduated. That leaves the punter position vacant once again, and Todd is the clear favorite to win the job this time around.
His strong leg should help LSU with the field-position battle this fall.
