Biggest steals of the 2nd round

Every year, the NFL draft produces bargain selections who prove they should have come off the board way sooner.

This happens across every round, and Day 2 is where many of the best gems are found.

Here are our picks for the biggest steals from the second round of this year’s draft:

RB Breece Hall | New York Jets | No. 36 overall

Anytime you land the best prospect at a particular position group, you’ve done something good. That’s exactly what the Jets did when they grabbed Hall near the top of the second round, getting this year’s top running back.

Hall is a complete back with an impressive blend of speed and power, as well as a strong combination of patience and vision. His skill set is similar to what Jonathan Taylor brought to the league a few years ago, and he certainly looks like a huge second-round steal at this point. Hall could easily have that kind of impact for the Jets.

CB Kyler Gordon | Chicago Bears | No. 39 overall

Winning the draft is about filling your biggest needs while maximizing value, and that’s especially important if you don’t have a first-round pick. That’s the situation the Bears found themselves in this year, nailing their top selection after sitting out of Day 1.

Gordon has the perfect skill set to excel in Matt Eberflus’ defense, with a fantastic combination of athleticism and instincts that should make him an immediate playmaker at the next level. He could have easily been a first-round pick.

CB Andrew Booth Jr. | Minnesota Vikings | No. 42 overall

Another corner show could have easily gone in the first round, Booth might be the most pro-ready prospect in this year’s loaded class at the position. An injury kept him out of predraft workouts, and likely contributed to his tumble down the draft board, but the Vikings…
