Watch J.D. McKissic with a slick move during Commanders’ OTAs

When Washington fans last saw running back J.D. McKissic in action, it was during a thrilling Monday night win over the Seattle Seahawks. While McKissic was the hero for Washington that night, it was also his last game of the 2021 NFL season.

McKissic was injured during the fourth quarter of Washington’s 17-15 win over Seattle. He scored both of Washington’s touchdowns in the game. McKissic would miss the rest of the season with shoulder and neck injuries.

A free agent at the end of the 2021 season, Washington badly wanted to retain McKissic. However, when the legal tampering period opened in March, McKissic agreed to a deal with the Buffalo Bills. The Commanders didn’t even offer McKissic a contract before agreeing to terms with the Bills.

Just before the new league year began, some shocking news occurred when it was revealed that McKissic had changed his mind and was returning to Washington. It created some bad blood between the Bills and Commanders, who previously enjoyed a strong relationship due to Ron Rivera’s relationships with Buffalo coach Sean McDermott and GM Brandon Beane.

Last week, the Commanders began OTAs, and fans finally had the opportunity to see McKissic back in a Washington uniform, with a new number.

He hasn’t missed a beat. Check out this move he put on Washington defensive end James Smith-Williams.

The Commanders should have a full backfield in 2022 with McKissic and Antonio Gibson back and the addition of third-round pick Brian Robinson Jr.

New quarterback Carson Wentz should be thrilled that McKissic is back in burgundy and goal in 2022.
