LS Jonathan Ferguson’s player profile

Going into the 2022 football season, LSU Wire will be looking at each player listed on the Tigers’ roster.

Over the preseason, each profile will cover where the player is from, how recruiting websites rated them coming out of high school, and what role they will play for Brian Kelly this season.

We continue to take a look at the specialists that could make an impact this fall, and now we’ll look at the player some see as the favorite to be the primary long snapper in 2022 in Jonathan Ferguson, who redshirted his first year on campus in 2021.

Depth Chart Overview

LSU has a spot to fill at long-snapper this season as last year’s starter, Quentin Skinner, entered the transfer portal following the season. Ferguson, who redshirted and only appeared in one game last season, is the returning player while Slade Roy joins as a transfer from East Carolina, where he started last season.

Roy is the more experienced player, but we could still see Ferguson get the nod this fall as he enters his second season with the team.
