Notes & observations from practice

The Giants were back on the practice field Tuesday following the holiday weekend.

OTA No. 7 was an abbreviated practice, but the offense and defense still matched up for some situational team drills.

Here are notes from Tuesday’s practice:

*On the very first play during 11 on 11s, Daniel Jones connected with Darius Slayton for a huge gain. Following a deflection that knocked the ball into the air, Slayton was able to find it, gain possession and get both feet in before stepping out of bounds for a 30+ yard gain.

*Tyrod Taylor found running back Matt Breida near the sideline for a first down. Two plays later, Taylor placed the ball perfectly on a pass to C.J. Board on the sideline for another first down. The chemistry between Taylor and Board continues to grow throughout these spring practices.

*Davis Webb then came in at quarterback and immediately faced a third and long situation. Webb threw it to Alex Bachman over the middle, who made an extended grab to pick up a first down.

*The connection between Daniel Jones and Wan’Dale Robinson has been on full display throughout OTAs. It continued on Tuesday, as Jones hit the rookie wide receiver in stride in the end zone for a touchdown from nearly 20 yards out.

*Later in practice, Robinson caught another touchdown pass, this time from Taylor from a couple of yards out. Robinson has looked impressive over the last few weeks, regardless of who has been throwing the ball.

*With Webb at quarterback, wide receiver Austin Proehl made a nice move to get open, catching a pass at the one-yard line. Two plays later, Webb found tight end Chris Myarick over the middle for the score.

*Julian Love had great coverage on a play near the goal line, forcing an incompletion in the back of the end zone.

*Cornerback Maurice Canady had the only interception of the day, picking off a pass in the end zone on a two-point conversion attempt.

*The Giants Foundation Charity Golf Classic was held Tuesday afternoon. Before practice started, Coach Brian…
