NFL FLAG Announces Seattle Seahawks Flag Football League

SEATTLE, June 8, 2022 – NFL FLAG and the Seattle Seahawks have teamed up to reimagine youth flag football in the state of Washington with the debut of the Seattle Seahawks Flag Football League.

The league will continue the mission of Russell Wilson NFL FLAG to grow youth participation in flag football and offer a one-of-a kind flag football experience for boys and girls ages 4-14 in the Seattle area. Flag football is one of the fastest growing sports in the United States, with regular participation of more than 3 million youth and adults each year. The Seahawks Flag Football League will offer a convenient practice-before-game format allowing athletes to learn new skills and implement them immediately after during league play.

“The Seahawks are thrilled to partner with NFL FLAG to launch this new league, which will make flag football programs even more accessible to all youth in our community,” said Jeff Richards, Seahawks Vice President of Marketing and Community Engagement. “Flag football is the perfect way for young athletes of all ages and abilities to come together to play the game in a fun and interactive way, and we are excited to use our platform to support the growth of football programs for girls and boys across our region for years to come.”

Registration for the fall season is now open through July 31, with league play hosted exclusively on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The season includes seven weeks of play and is perfect for children looking to develop their skill sets in a fun and exciting environment of play. You can register at www.seahawksflagfootball.com.

Athletes participating in the Seattle Seahawks Flag Football League will enjoy access to premier playing facilities including Virginia Mason Athletic Center and Lumen Field, exclusive Seahawks and NFL gear and apparel, and appearances from past and present Seahawks players, Seahawks Dancers and fan favorite mascots, Blitz and Boom.
