Denver Broncos new ownership wants Peyton Manning invovled

Rob Walton is set to soon become the new controlling owner of the Denver Broncos (pending NFL approval), with his son-in-law, Greg Penner, and his daughter, Carrie Walton-Penner, expected to handle the team’s day-to-day duties as minority owners.

The Walton-Penner group is also set to have Mellody Hobson join as a minority owner as well.

Now there’s word that Peyton Manning could be involved, too.

“The Walton-Penner Broncos ownership group has had conversations with Peyton Manning about an advisory role in the organization that eventually could mean being a part of the ownership group and having equity in the franchise, per sources,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted Thursday morning.

Manning spent the final four years of his career with the Broncos, winning Super Bowl 50 before retiring in 2016. Manning, who still lives in the Denver area, attends the team’s home games and he has worked with the club’s quarterbacks, staying closely connected to the Broncos in retirement.

Now Denver’s new ownership wants to get Manning involved with an official title. That will be welcomed news in Broncos Country.
