Baron Browning attended Von Miller’s Pass Rush Summit

The Denver Broncos moved Baron Browning from inside linebacker to outside linebacker this spring, and the reviews have all been positive so far.

“He’s done a really fine job,” coach Nathaniel Hackett said last month. “He’s somebody that we saw a couple of things on tape last year that could potentially be something that he can do. His ability to bend and lower his hips and round that tackle is something that stood out on tape. That’s another rusher on the outside, and he’s doing a good job.”

Bradley Chubb said last week that he wasn’t able to make former teammate Von Miller’s annual Pass Rush Summit, but Chubb revealed that Browning did attend the camp. It’s clear that the second-year defender is all-in on mastering the edge position.

“I kind of wanted to make the move, they felt the same way,” Browning said on June 1. “I don’t know if this is something for just this period for right now, but I’m just making the most of it and working on just perfecting my craft every day.”

Browning wasn’t sure if he’s going to be an OLB full-time, but Hackett spoke as if it will be the linebacker’s primary position.

“Right now, we want him to train at that position on the outside and see where it goes from there,” Hackett said. “He does have experience there , so I image if we do get into a pinch, he can easily get back there but we really like what we’re doing with him right now.”

It’s not a completely foreign position to Browning because he spent time there at Ohio State and the Broncos initially planned to have him play there in 2021 before injuries forced him to play inside.

“I feel like I’m pretty comfortable there and I’m making a lot of progress,” the edge defender said.

All the reviews have been positive. Now we wait to see the results.
