Lincoln Riley is part of a select group of college football coaches

This college football offseason just went through a massive shift in the landscape of many programs.

Brian Kelly went from Notre Dame to LSU, Mario Cristobal left Oregon to head to Miami, and Lincoln Riley left Norman and took the job as the USC Trojans’ head coach.

The list keeps on going, and the NIL effect has flowed through the country at a rapid pace.

Nonetheless, the 2022 college football season will be full of storylines from start to finish, and as of now, who knows which team will be the favorite?

Brad Crawford of 247Sports put together a list of five coaches who can win their first college football national title, and all five have a legitimate case to make that they can come out on top.

Let’s examine the list.

The Michigan Wolverines defied the odds and made a terrific run to the College Football Playoff. Ultimately, they couldn’t make the title game, but Harbaugh’s group fought hard all year long.

Then, Harbaugh flirted with the NFL before going back to Ann Arbor, and Michigan should once again be a national contender.

Mario Cristobal left the Pac-12 and headed all the way to the state of Florida. Can Cristobal turn around the Miami Hurricanes? It might take some time, but if anybody can do it, it is Cristobal.
