Despite the lack of success Texas has experienced recently, the Longhorns have managed to sign numerous highly rated recruits over the last 10 years.
Second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian is in the midst of changing the culture at Texas and developing players once they arrive to campus. The previous regime under Tom Herman failed to get the most out of former five-star prospects at the collegiate level.
It’s not a given that five-star recruits find success at the next level. Nearly every college program has experienced a bust with a player that was highly coveted coming out of high school but unable to make an impact for their collegiate team.
Since 2012, the Longhorns have signed 12 five-star recruits and five of those are currently on the roster. Two are incoming freshmen, while the other three are expected to play significant roles for Texas this season.
Here’s a look at each five-star recruit Texas has signed over the last 10 years, according to 247Sports’ all-time list.
