Ideal road trip for Giants fans in 2022


With vacations on everyone’s mind this time of year, that got us thinking at Giants.com: What is the best road game for Giants fans in 2022?

Dan Salomone: London will never be confused for Green Bay, but that’s where you will find the Giants and Packers on Oct. 9. One of the oldest rivalries in sports will be played across the Pond at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as the Packers become the 32nd and final NFL team to play in London. From a football perspective, the Giants have relished their overseas games. They are 2-0 in the United Kingdom, beginning in 2007 with the first regular season NFL game played outside of North America. From a travel perspective, fans could make it the launching point of a Eurotrip. Even better, make it the finale after hitting up Oktoberfest.

Lance Medow: Considering they visit their division rivals every season, we’ll eliminate those three games, which leaves us with five options. When you take into consideration, the timing of the contest and location, visiting Seattle in Week 8 is the most attractive and if you love rain (like I do), it’s even more appealing though that reputation is more in name than the reality of what happens in the Pacific Northwest. It’s no different than Supersonics legend Shawn Kemp being called “The Reign Man.” There’s many different layers to that story so we’ll have to save that for another Cover 3, but that shouldn’t stop you from visiting Climate Pledge Arena, formerly Key Arena, where the Sonics used to call home.

Seattle provides the perfect combo of a seaport city with several other attractions, including the Space Needle, Seattle Center Monorail, Museum of Pop Culture and Seattle Great Wheel. The Giants also visit the Seahawks right in the middle of the season – late October prior to the bye week. By that time, we’ll also have a better idea of both teams and, if not, you can blame it on Halloween as it’s the ideal opportunity to hide behind a façade, both literally and figuratively.
