Michigan football Big Ten championship ring has Ohio State score on it

There’s a school in East Lansing that got rings for winning the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl against Pitt this past season, and put the score of its win over rival Michigan on the ring, as if it was meaningful. Turns out Michigan is following suit, to some degree, however the two scores the Wolverines included on their rings have a little more credence.

The maize and blue won the Big Ten for the first time since 2004 this past season, and they’ve finally been revealed. On the ring, it has the Big Ten trophy, the year, the name on the side, and the College Football Playoff logo on the other side. But near the top, it has the scores from the Big Ten Championship game against Iowa, and — you guessed it — the final of the Ohio State game.

Why is it more relevant? Because Michigan won the actual conference, rather than a bowl game against a team not playing its NFL-drafted quarterback, and beating Ohio State was the springboard that led the Wolverines to Indianapolis and then the College Football Playoff semifinal.

To some degree, this touches all the bases, gloating over a rival while celebrating a very meaningful trophy win.
