Hall, Pappoe headline Tigers honored by Phil Steele

There is plenty of uncertainty around the Auburn football program ahead of the 2022 season but one thing that can not be debated is that the roster has plenty of top-end talent.

That was again proven when the Phil Steele Magazine announced his preseason All-American and All-SEC teams.

Auburn edge Derick Hall and linebacker Owen Pappoe were both named to his All-American teams and eight other Tigers made his All-SEC teams.

Hall, who was named a Second-Team All-American, made 52 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, and 9.0 sacks last season as a junior. He returned for his senior season and is looking to vault himself into the first round of the NFL draft with a strong senior season.

Pappoe, who had his junior season by injuries, was named to the fourth team. Pappoe played in just five games but showed what he can do as a sophomore making 93 tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss, four sacks, one interception, and defending three passes.

While those two headlined Auburn’s honoree’s here is a look at the 10 Tigers who made Steele’s All-SEC teams.
