New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski announced his retirement on Tuesday. In doing so, he wraps up a 13-year career that included 9,288 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns.

Drafted by the Patriots in 2010, the tight end immediately brought a jolt to the New England passing offense. Over the years, he would revolutionize the position, and helped usher in a new era of pass-catchers at the position.

Known for his hard-hitting and hard-partying ways, Gronk had a celebrated career on and off the field. In making this list, it was hard to pick six of his best moments. I tried my best. He left his mark wrote the course of his career. We take a look at six of his best moments.

Gronkowski bunts the Lombardi Trophy

There have been so many good Gronkowski moments over the years, and several have taken place off the field. For this moment, Gronkowski gave the Lombardi Trophy a little bit of a makeover at Fenway Park.

The Red Sox hosted the Patriots to celebrate their Super Bowl win in 2019. The tight end took that opportunity to showcase some of his baseball skills. He used one of the Patriots Lombardi trophies to bunt a baseball, leaving a dent in the trophy itself.

It was another case of Gronk showing his free-spirited self. The Red Sox could have used his talents that day, as they fell to the Toronto Blue Jays by a 9-3 margin.

Gronk drags the Washington defense in extra yards quest

Gronk burst onto the scene in 2011, immediately making an impact in a New England offense that was starving for production at the tight end position.

His size and skill was on display right from the get-go and the Washington defense found that out the hard way. He finished the game with 160 yards and two touchdowns on six receptions.
