Top three draft-eligible running backs in the Big Ten for 2022

Top three draft-eligible running backs in the Big Ten for 2022

It is never too early to talk about the NFL Draft and one of the most polarizing and fun positions to discuss is the running back position. The Big Ten conference has a rich history of running backs and just last year sent Michigan State’s Kenneth Walker to the NFL.

The bad news is no Ohio State players will be on this list, but the good news is also that no Ohio State players will be on this list. TreVeyon Henderson will only be a true sophomore and no matter how well he plays will be back in Columbus, Ohio, for 2023. This list is about the top draft-eligible prospects and let’s dive into what the Big Ten has to offer.

What Makes Him Intriguing

It was a bit shocking to see Jarek Broussard’s name in the transfer portal considering he was going to be the entire Colorado offense this season, but with Kenneth Walker III off to the NFL, Broussard may be the next star in the Big Ten.

2
Chase Brown, Illinois

What Makes Him Intriguing

Chase Brown has already proved to be an extremely talented workhorse since transferring from Western Michigan, and his 1,005 rushing yards last season provided Illinois just their second 1,000 yards or more rusher in the last decade — the other being Reggie Corbin. Brown is one-half of a lethal tandem at Illinois, but in my opinion, will emerge as the far more elite talent.
