Deebo Samuel still hasn’t taken trade request off table

Samuel, the 49ers’ most dynamic offensive player, requested to be traded earlier in the offseason. He seeks a lucrative new contract and to be used just as a wide receiver. It is believed that things have gotten better and that a new deal will happen, but according to one report, he hasn’t exactly rescinded his trade request.

Health still issue in trading Jimmy Garoppolo

The 49ers are waiting to trade Garoppolo, as they have decided to make second-year quarterback Trey Lance, drafted third overall in last year’s draft, their starter. However, Garoppolo required offseason shoulder surgery because of an injury he sustained in the playoffs. His health has been the  holdup to a trade all offseason and continues to be a sticking point.

49ers’ linebackers ranked best in the NFL

Pro Football Focus is not high on the Arizona Cardinals’ starting linebacker duo of Zaven Collins and Isaiah Simmons. However, the 49ers’ linebackers are ranked the best in the NFL by a lot.

PFF also does not like what the Cardinals have in the secondary. Despite having safety Budda Baker, they rank woefully low.

San Francisco’s secondary is in the middle of the pack in the league.
