Penn State’s roster for the 2022 season has a good mix of returning veterans and experience and fresh new faces expected to jump in and contribute this fall. Nittany Lions Wire will be taking a look at 25 of the most important players on the roster for the 2022 season all throughout the month of July by profiling one player each day.
One of the most exciting players we will be highlighting in the month of July is without a doubt Parker Washington. The uber athletic receiver from Sugarland, Texas has found himself pegged to be the next big thing at the receiver position for the Nittany Lions. James Franklin has really found himself on a hot streak as of late by producing NFL-level talent at the position.
K.J. Hamler and Jahan Dotson have both found themselves on the highway to success, is Washington next? All signs are certainly pointing to it.

2021 was very good to Parker Washington in terms of production. He saw a career-high in nearly every statistical category across the board while also proving he can hang with the like of current Washington Commander, Jahan Dotson.
He appeared in 13 games and saw a huge production uptick from him. He would catch 64 passes, sixth-most all-time in a single season for the team, and also rack up 820 yards which were good enough for 20th all-time. That production was enough to earn 3rd team All-Big Ten honors as well as All-Big Ten academic team off the field.
Balancing both football and school is never easy, especially at Penn State, but this year will be more for Washington in both areas.

Washington doesn’t have a whole lot of questions surrounding him in 2022 if we are being honest. One that is worth asking though is what will his production be like with a full year as the go-to receiver?
If he can produce at the rate he did last year…
