Clemson football: Cade Klubnik player profile

Heading into the 2022 season, Clemson Wire will be taking a look at multiple players on the Clemson football roster.

Over the preseason, each profile will cover where the player is from, how recruiting websites rated them coming out of high school, and what role they will play for Dabo Swinney this season.

The first player we will discuss is quarterback Cade Klubnik who is entering his freshman season for the Tigers.

Klubnik has been on campus, and while he is not the starter, he will likely be competing with DJ Uiagalelei for the starting position throughout the season.

Klubnik earned the No.1 QB ranking in his class after a great career at Westlake High School in Texas. Klubnik led Westlake to three consecutive state championships in 2019, 2020, and 2021, including the final two years as the starter. Cade became the first quarterback to go undefeated as a starter while winning back-to-back state titles in Texas’ highest classification since Allen’s Kyler Murray. He was named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Texas and was named as one of three finalists for National Gatorade Player of the Year for 2021. He was later named MVP of the Elite 11 Camp in the summer of 2021.
