Justin Simmons will soon be in good company in the Denver Broncos’ history books.
Simmons has already totaled 21 interceptions through six seasons, putting him 10th overall on the team’s all-time interceptions list. He’s totaled at least four interceptions in each of the last three seasons and if he continues that pace in 2022, Simmons will pass Steve Atwater on the team’s all-time list.
Atwater currently ranks ninth with 24 interceptions, so Simmons needs four more INTs this fall to jump the Hall of Famer.
Here’s a look at the top-10 players on Denver’s all-time INTs list.
Player | INTs |
1. S Steve Foley | 44 |
2. S Goose Gonsoulin | 43 |
3. S Bill Thompson | 40 |
T-4. CB Champ Bailey | 34 |
T-4. DB Tyrone Braxton | 34 |
6. CB Mike Harden | 33 |
7. S Dennis Smith | 30 |
8. CB Louis Wright | 26 |
9. S Steve Atwater | 24 |
10. S Justin Simmons | 21 |
Simmons is one of the best safeties in the NFL today and he’s well on his way to being remembered as one of the best in franchise history.
