Florida football is coming off a disappointing season that saw a sub-.500 finish as well as the jettisoning of its coaching staff as things fell apart in the second half of the schedule. Out with the old went Dan Mullen and his crew while in with the new brought in Billy Napier and his army of staffers.
The changing of the guard has left a cloud of uncertainty heading into the 2022 campaign, as the new — but unproven — regime has instilled a completely different approach to all facets of the program. However, hopes are high in Hogtown despite a tumultuous end to the Mullen tenure, which did see Florida play in three-straight New Year’s Six bowls but ultimately fell flat on its face.
So what can the Gator Nation expect next season? On3 recently ranked the Southeastern Conference from top to bottom in its 2022 preseason power rankings, which has the Orange and Blue just outside of the top five teams. Take a look below where Florida and the rest of its peers stand in the eyes of On3’s staff.
