Denver Broncos training camp is now just two weeks away and there will be plenty of key position battles to watch on offense and defense this summer.
Fans shouldn’t overlook special teams, though. It’s an important third phase of the game and an area where the Broncos are aiming to show big improvement this season.
With that in mind, here’s a look at our pre-camp special teams depth chart prediction for Denver.
Kicker: Brandon McManus

Right now, there’s no competition for McManus on the 90-man offseason roster. Even if the Broncos do bring in a camp leg, McManus will be a lock to keep his job in 2022, barring injury.
Punter: Sam Martin

Denver did bring in competition for Martin, signing Corliss Waitman after the Super Bowl. Waitman is younger and cheaper, and Martin is scheduled to become a free agent next year, so this might be a position battle to keep an eye on. Even with that said, though, it would be an upset if Martin doesn’t hold on to the job for at least one more season.
Long snapper: Jacob Bobenmoyer

Much like McManus, Bobenmoyer isn’t facing any competition at his position going into training camp. Denver doesn’t have any reason to seek an upgrade at long snapper due to Bobenmoyer’s reliable play over the last two seasons.
Returner: Montrell Washington

Washington is the heavy favorite to win the return job this summer, but he will have to compete for it. His competition will likely include fellow receivers KJ Hamler and Kendall Hinton.
Key special teams players

WR Tyrie Cleveland
RB Mike Boone
FB/TE Andrew Beck
ILB Alex Singleton

DB P.J. Locke
These players might not have large roles on offense or defense this fall, but they could all feature on special teams for the Broncos.
