5 Bears rookies to watch at training camp

Chicago Bears biggest concerns on offense ahead of 2022 season

Training camp for the Chicago Bears begins in just one week, when the entire team returns to Halas Hall for the start of practices before the regular season. For the Bears rookies, however, they will have a head start as they’re scheduled to report on Saturday.

The team’s rookie class will be a focal point when camp practices officially begin. While there isn’t a potential franchise quarterback in this year’s group like in 2021, there are plenty of players who might be flying under the radar. It will be difficult to evaluate Jones in practice, meaning the real evaluation will take place during the preseason games. Either way, the left tackle position needs to be solidified before week one. Jones has the upper hand and it will be interesting to see if he can hold onto it.

2. G Zachary Thomas

While Jones will likely occupy the left tackle position, the Bears right guard spot is still up for grabs. That could be good news for rookie Zachary Thomas, a sixth-round selection out of San Diego State.
