Tide land promising 2023 kicker from IL

Tide lands commitment from 2022 juco TE

Alabama has certainly had its’ shares of ups and downs at the kicker position over the years. The Crimson Tide program has been lucky enough to have one of the nation’s best kickers in Will Reichard. However, he will likely turn pro after this season barring something unexpected. That means that someone will have to step up and could be Conor Talty who committed to the Tide on Wednesday.

Talty is a native of Chicago, Illinois. He is rated as a five-star by Kohl’s Kicking, a kicking camp that is hosted to evaluate kicker prospects across the country. The site ranked him as the No. 27 kicker in the nation. Here is what Kohl’s had to say about Talty:

“He has the leg speed and coordination to be one of the top combo prospects in his class. Talty is a smooth ball-striker with excellent confidence and body command. His leg strength and coordination are very good for a rising senior.”

Last season, he made 9-13 field goal attempts while also booming 51-52 extra points. Alabama will likely have to replace Reichard, so having a player of Talty’s caliber is useful.

Talty is the 13th commit for Alabama’s 2023 recruiting class. He is the lone specialist that has committed to the Tide. After receiving a scholarship offer over the weekend, he didn’t hesitate to announce his commitment via Twitter.
