The big storyline

The Jets revamped their defensive line over the past two years but itβs only fully coming together in 2022. Lawsonβs season-ending injury prior to the 2021 season kept him off the field until now. Thereβs excitement for him to make his New York debut.
But when he does, heβll also have a rookie first-round pick in Johnson running across from him on the D-line. That should help make things easier for Lawson in Year 1 if Johnson can get ahold of the pro game early.
Plus, these two additions should be a positive for the returning players in the middle of the front: Williams and Franklin-Myers. That duo led that Jets with six sacks each last season and theyβll be hoping to add to thatβ¦ if this whole operation comes together. Itβs easier said than done.

With such additions there is really no reason to believe the Jets wonβt improve next season. As mentioned, New York will have their top-two pass rushers from a year ago coming back, in addition to some promising rotational pieces like Huff. The loss of Foley Fatuski in the run game might be an issue, but if New York can manage that, this front should easily be better.
