Pac-12 Conference recognizes 13 Ducks for preseason honors

One way you can tell that the college football season is around the corner is when conferences announce their preseason honors list.

The Pac-12 put out their list on Tuesday and to no one’s surprise, 13 Oregon players were recognized. A total of four Ducks are on the First Team, four on the Second Team, and five Honorable Mentions.

Linebacker Noah Sewell leads the Ducks on the First Team and he is one of the favorites to win the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year. Possibly a surprise selection for the Second Team is tailback Byron Cardwell, who burst onto the scene as a true freshman in 2021.

One Duck, who is a preseason Honorable Mention and has the ability to be a First Teamer once the season ends is all-purpose/special teams performer Seven McGee. Folks in Eugene know what he’s capable of, but the rest of the conference doesn’t know, yet.
